Saturday March 21st and Saturday March 28th 2015. Members of no.w.here 150, non-members 250. 10:30 - 5:30pm both days.

This workshop will show you not only how to use the Bolex H16mm camera, but also strategies for shooting film in an affordable and frugal way.

On the morning of Day 1 you will learn how the Bolex H16 camera is loaded and operated. We will using ORWO PF2 black and white print stock to shoot with, which although it has a very slow ASA of around 3, is suitable for outdoor shooting, and more importantly is a more affordable way of working with 16mm and trying out the camera.

We will cover also lenses, light metering and creative camera techniques as well as strategies for shooting. In the afternoon we will take a central line train to Epping Forest to shoot together as a group, returning to no.w.here for 5pm.

The following Saturday you will learn how to mix the correct developing chemistry as well as load a Lomo processing tank. Participants will be responsible for loading their tanks and processing their own films. We will also look at bucket processing, which as the name implies is the quickest way of developing an image. The beauty of using PF2 stock is that you can load tanks and process the film in red light....
